Why did your Epson stop printing?
Epson inkjet printers collect leftover ink from print-head cleaning cycles in an absorbent pad (the “waste ink pad”) or a maintenance tank. An internal counter stored in EEPROM estimates how much ink it has absorbed.
When that counter reaches the defined limit, the printer locks up and shows messages like “parts inside your printer have reached the end of their service life” or errors such as E‑11, even when the pad physically has room left.
The official route is taking it to a service center to replace the pad and reset the counter with Epson's internal utility. Commercial alternatives (WIC Reset, Adjustment Program) usually charge per reset, serve unaudited binaries, or live on sketchy websites. We propose another way.
