About PadReset

Who is behind this

I am Dante S. González. I have spent 10 years working in the printing trade, and that is where both the reach and the limits of this site come from: I did not write the reset software, but I do know what happens inside a printer when the counter hits its limit and the pad is already saturated, dry or half-way there. PadReset came from seeing perfectly usable machines locked by a number.

PadReset is an independent project: I do not work for any company, I do not represent Epson or the authors of the tools, and I sell nothing. Imprímelo 247 is the studio I am founding to publish it, and it is not a registered company yet: whoever answers for what is published here is me, by name.

Site operator and responsible for the content. Not the author of the tools.

Project history

Free your Epson printer

PadReset was born from a shared frustration: you paid for a printer and the manufacturer blocks it in software to force an extra payment or a service visit. We believe owning something includes being able to maintain and repair it.

Our immediate goal is to be a trusted reference for recovering an Epson printer locked by the waste pad counter: clear explanations, vetted free tools, and a safe guide. Mid-term we aim to foster a single unified tool combining the best of each project.

Beyond getting your printer back, you also reduce e-waste: thousands of perfectly healthy machines end up in landfills because of a programmable counter.

PadReset is brought to you by Imprímelo 247.

Credits: giving credit where it's due

PadReset is a directory and a guide. The reverse engineering and databases are made possible by these projects:

Each tool keeps its original license (AGPL-3.0, EUPL-1.2, Apache-2.0 or GPL-2.0); respect them if you redistribute. This site's code is MIT and its texts CC BY-SA 4.0.

The site charges nothing and will never charge for a reset. If you want to give back, donate directly to the upstream projects: they do the hard work. Support links will appear here once configured.
